Tasty Chicken kuruma for non veg lovers in Kuchinigirls


Ingredients:

Chicken - 200g
Onion - 1 Big size cut vertically
Fresh curd - 1 cup
Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tbsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Whole spices - 1 tbsp (cardamon,cinnamon,cloves,bay leaf and kalpasi )
Cashews - Handful
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt - As required

Method - step by step photos :
> Wash the chicken by water
> Slice the onion vertically 
> And fry in the oil 
> To a golden color.
> Grind the fried onions and keep aside 
> And grind the cashews with little water 
> smooth paste is ready
> In a bowl add fresh curd 
> And add all the whole spices and masalas powders and ginger garlic paste and oil and mix well
> In a pan add this curd mixture and allow it to boil for 2 min
> Add cashew paste water to the mix 

> And then add the fried onion paste and mix well 
> And then add the chicken to the gravy.
> Add the required salt and allow it to cook for about 7 -10 min in a low flame
> The chicken kurma is ready to serve with parathas, roti, and rice.

Note :

> Add the fresh curd to this gravy and don't use the sour one.
> Then the gravy will have a sour taste.

  •  Cut the chicken (200g) into small pieces and wash it well with water. Turmeric powder is a good antibiotic so you can add a pinch of turmeric and salt while washing.
  • Then slice one big onion into vertically. And heat the oil in a pan and put the onions into it. Wait onions turn a golden color. Make a deep fry. This is an important process for this dish.so that you can get the exact taste.
  • Once it's fried well transfer it to a mixie jar and grind it. Don't add water.no need to make a paste consistency. Just grind it. Or you can crush it by hand grinder.
  • And add a handful of cashews in a mixie jar and make a paste. Add water if required. This will give thick consistency for the dish. Keep it aside. (Approximately 20 whole cashews).we are not going to add coconut.so this is also an important step.
  • In a bowl add fresh curd. Curd should be fresh. (Approximately 7 teaspoons)
  • Then add whole spices powder into it.
  • Heat the pan adds cinnamon, bay leaves, cloves,kalpasi, and bay leaf. Roast it for 2 min.
  • Then transfer into a small mixie jar and make a powder. Whole spices powder is ready.
  • Add 1 tbsp whole spices powder into curd.
  • Then add masala powders.
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp, coriander powder 1/2 tbsp,garam masala 1/2 tbsp, and turmeric powder 1/2 tbsp.
  • Also, add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste.
  • Take an equal amount of ginger and garlic and peel the skin. Transfer it to a mixie jar and add required water and make a smooth paste. Adding a few fennel seeds while grinding is optional. Ginger garlic paste is ready.
  • So add 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste into this curd bowl.
  • Finally, add 1 tbsp of oil into this curd and mix it well. Add your favorite oil,  I Just add cooking oil.
  • Prepare all the above and keep it ready for the yummy dish.
  • Now transfer this curd mix into a heavy-bottomed pan and give a stir. Allow it to boil for 2 min. So that ingredients raw smell will go off.
  • Now add cashews paste into this pan. Mix well.
  • Then add fried onions. Mix it again.
  • Now add the chicken. And if you think the mixture is too thick add required water to get exact consistency.
  • Let it boil for 10 min. Chicken has to cook well. Check the salt.
  • Once the chicken has cooked well switch off the flame and add coriander.
  • Tasty chicken kurma is ready to serve.
