      Puli kozhambu


Ingredients:
Small onions - 150 gms
Tomato - 1 big 
Garlic - 15 to 20 pods
Tamarind - lemon size 
Homemade chilli powder - 2 tablespoon ( or u can use 1 tbsp red chilli powder + 1 tbsp coriander powder) 
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Hing powder - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 2 tbspn
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
Peppercorns - 1/4 tsp
Jeera - 1/4 tsp
Red chili - 4-5 
Curry leaves - 1 strand
Salt - needed

Recipe:

* Heat the pan, once it is heated add oil 
* then add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, jeera, peppercorns, and red chili 
* Then add the garlic pods once it turns light golden brown add the small onions. 
* Let the onions get cooked for a minute then add curry leaves and tomato
 
* Once the tomatoes turn mushy add the filtered tamarind water 


*and homemade chili powder and turmeric powder and salt. 
* Add hing powder and little water n mix all together and close the lid for 10 mins in a low medium flame
* Puli kozhambu is ready and can be served hot with white rice and pappad.
