Keerai masiyal# Smashed Spinach in Kuchinigirls


Ingredients:
Spinach - 2
Pepper - 1 Teaspoon
Jeera - 1 Teaspoon
Garlic - 5 cloves
Onion - 1 Big
Tomato - 1 Big
Green chilies - 2
Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon
Salt - As required

For seasoning:
Gingelly oil - 1 Teaspoon
Mustard - 1/4 teaspoon
Curry leaves - Handful
Dry chili - 2

Method:

> I have taken this spinach for smashing and this is the most available one in oman supermarkets.
> Take this stem out and wash it by water
> Chopped spinach is ready for the dish
> Then transferred it to a strong based vessel and add onion, tomato, green chili. Mix well.
> Also add 50 - 100 ml of water.don't add too much of water.
> Then add turmeric powder, salt, and asafoetida.
> Also add garlic cloves and crushed pepper and jeera
> Leave it for 10 or more min to cook well
> Then keep it a low flame and smash it well 
> Smashed spinach is ready 
> In a small pan add oil, mustard, once mustard splitter add curry leaves and dry chilies
> Add seasoning into the spinach
> Hot smashed spinach is ready to serve with rice and chapati.

Note:
> This process is the same for other type spinaches also except drumstick leaves
> Adding dal, coconut into spinach is different methods will post in the future
> Any oil is recommended for seasoning.i used gingelly oil.
> For kids smash the rice and add a spoon of ghee and this smashed spinach.
> For side dish you can give a boiled egg for kids.
> Spinach is the cheapest and healthiest one
> It rich in vitamin A, C, and good for eye and blood pressure
> Taking spinach in the night time is not recommended.
