Kasi Halwa/Vellai poosanikkai Halwa/Halwa Receipe/white pumpkin halwa
Ingredients:
Ash gourd / white pumpkin - Medium size(Grated)
Ash gourd squeezed water - 200-250ml
Sugar - Equal amount of squeezed ash gourd
Ghee - 4 to 7 teaspoons
Cardamom powder - 2 pinch
Edible camphor (Pachai karpooram) - a pinch
Cashew – few
Method:
> Now grate the pumpkin
> Its all grated well
> Take a cotton cloth, put the grated pumpkin and squeeze it
> Squeezed water is ready
> Take a sugar is equal to squeezed pumpkin
> In a Pan add 3 teaspoons of ghee
> Once Ghee heated add cashews and fry. Keep it separately
> In the same pan add squeezed pumpkin water and make it boil
> Once boiled well add grated pumpkin
> Give a stir
> Add two spoons of ghee and give a stir
> Now add sugar and pinch of cardamom powder
> Give a stir
> Mix well and make a Halwa consistency
> Finally add a pinch of camphor
> Kasi halwa is ready to serve

> Kasi halwa is ready to serve
Recipe :
> Take a medium size white pumpkin and remove the skin and soft portion of the pumpkin
>Take a cotton cloth and squeeze the grated pumpkin well using your hands. Collect the water in a bowl and keep it aside. Measure the squeezed ash gourd and take an equal amount of sugar
> In a Pan add Ghee. Once Ghee heated add cashews and fry. Keep it aside
>In the same pan pours the squeezed ash gourd water and boil it . while boiling add the squeezed ash gourd and cook it for 5-7 minutes in medium flame until the ash gourd absorbs complete water
>After the Ash gourd is cooked well and all the water is absorbed, add 2 Teaspoons of Ghee.
> Mix well then add sugar and pinch of cardamom powder
>When it starts to become thick and leave the sides of the pan, stir well and switch off the flame
Tips:
>You can add food color or saffron
>sugar should be an equal ratio or more.
>Adding a pinch of camphor (Pachai karpooram )will give you a divine feeling.should not add more.
