Plantain fry/Vaalakkai poriyal in Kuchinigirls
Ingredients:
Vegetables:
Plantain - 2 Medium size
Onion - 1 Small
Tomato - 1 Small
Curry leaves - 1 strand
For seasoning:
Oil - 2 Teaspoon
Mustard - 1/4 teaspoon
Urid dal - 1/4 teaspoon
Chana dal - 1/4 teaspoon
Masalas:
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
Salt - As required
Method :
> Peel the skin of the plantain and cut into small pieces
> Prepare the above before start the process
> Add oil in a pan once oil heated add mustard, once mustard splutter add urad, and chana dal
> Then add onion, curry leaves, and salt.
> Once onion turns brown add tomato and turmeric powder
> Wait till tomatoes turn mushy
> Then add Chopped plantain
> Cove and cook it for another 5 to 7 min.
> I did not add water
> Wait till plantain turns soft and switch off the flame.
> Hot plantain fry is ready to serve.

> Then add onion, curry leaves, and salt. Give a stir. wait till onion turns turn brown. Keep it in medium flame.
> Once onion turns brown add tomato and turmeric powder. Mix well. Cover the pan by the lid.
> Wait till tomatoes turn mushy
> Then add Chopped plantain
> Cove and cook it for another 5 to 7 min. Give a mix in regular intervals.do not let it burn.
> I did not add water
> Wait till plantain turns soft and switch off the flame.
> Serve hot with sambar rice and curd rice.
Note:
>Plantain has vitamins A, C, and B6.
> It has carbo and fiber.
> Taking too much is not recommended. Cooked plantain is just like a cooked potato. Consuming a lot will create gastric issues.
